My Story
I didn't set out to build a wellness brand. I set out to survive menopause with my sanity intact.
What I found instead was a medical system quick to hand me a prescription and slow to ask how I actually felt. Antidepressants. Anti-anxiety medication. Hormone therapy. All offered before anyone bothered to understand what was really happening in my body. At home, the message was the same - just fix it, so things can go back to normal.
Nothing about this felt normal. And I wasn't willing to pretend it did."
So I did what I always do when something isn't good enough - I made it myself. I suppose I’m an alchemist this way. I went back to school. I got board certified. I spent two years doing the research.
I built the program I wished someone had handed me.
I remember the exact moment it started. I was sitting in a meeting, and it felt like someone had lit a furnace inside my chest. I looked around. Surely everyone else was hot too. But no one else was sweating. Just me.
That was the beginning of three years without a full night's sleep. I would lie there, sometimes in tears, sometimes simply furious, while the rest of the house slept soundly around me.
Oh, I'm inconveniencing you? How lovely.
I knew in my gut there had to be a better way. So I went looking for it myself. More research rabbit holes than Alice in Wonderland ever saw, until a functional medicine approach became my plan. When I set my mind to something, I follow through. I followed through for me.
What kept me sane through those years was working out and adapting mindfulness to my daily routine. On a long run I could solve the worlds problems…and even a few of my own.
At some point, you have to be your own advocate. With a physician. With friends. Even with a partner or spouse. No one else is going to fight for your wellbeing as fiercely as you can fight for it yourself.
I knew there had to be others out there feeling exactly what I had felt. So I built this for them, and for you. Menopause...No Sweat! is everything I learned along the way, organized into the program I wished had existed the moment I needed it. Eleven evidence-based modules. A complete 21-day food plan. Sixty recipes. Real tools, not vague suggestions.
“Nothing about this felt normal and I wasn’t going to pretend it did.”
A Little More About Me…
I live in Laguna Beach, California, where the ocean has talked me through more hard days than I can count. I have been an athlete most of my life - a swimmer, then a runner, and now an enthusiastic Peloton devotee who has finished 26 marathons and a full Ironman triathlon. Not because it was easy, but because I have always believed in showing up for the hard things, one mile at a time.
When I am not moving, you will find me in the kitchen - baking is my other sport. Mindfulness came to me later in life and I cannot imagine living without it now. I am an unapologetic animal lover - honestly, sometimes more than people, and I mean that with full affection for both. I believe in something bigger than myself, in showing up, and in the quiet wisdom of living exactly where your feet are right now.
This program came from all of it - the research and the running, the sleepless nights and the long miles, and the stubborn certainty that there had to be a better way.
